NetMetrix Internetwork Monitor is a distributed client-server monitoringtool for Ethernet, token ring, and FDDI networks. It is software onlyand integrates into your management system to provide a comprehensiveview of your multi-segment network from your management console. TheNetMetrix Internetwork Monitor is RMON compliant, allowinginteroperability with other vendor's RMON compatible products. Datacollected from RMON agents, running on each segment in the network, isintegrated and correlated to provide complete end-to-end visibility of amulti-segment network. Traffic patterns can be seen at every layer of theOSI stack, using NetMetrix extensions to the RMON MIB. A user canswitch between a MAN view (which shows traffic going through routers andgateways), a network view (which shows end-to-end traffic), or applyfilters to see only traffic of a given protocol or suite of protocols.The Internetwork Monitor works in conjunction with the NetMetrix LoadMonitor, which provides extensive analysis of the traffic on a LAN.
